IDFA Dutch Documentary Award 2018

Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, 2018

Every year the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision gives out an award during IDFA, the international documentary festival in Amsterdam.

I was comissioned to create a promotional video for this award with the goal to encite filmmakers to make use of the media archive of Sound and Vision.

My idea was to show the ways in which we consume media from the early days until now, by focussing on the 'screens' in which we watch content from. I digged through the archive to find footage to fit the narrative. With a combination of film and animation the film blends the old and new images.

The film was shown before every dutch documentary première during IDFA festival in 2018 in multiple cinemas around Amsterdam.
